BIO
David Tregoning is a UK based composer, producer and video editor writing music for Film, TV & Games with a long history in writing/recording music.
Growing up in Devon in the South West of England, David was inspired by the beautiful countryside surroundings. From an early age David became fascinated by orchestral film music. It was the soundtracks to his favourite films Star Wars, E.T & Indiana Jones which got his passion for film scores going, and cites the music of John Williams as his biggest inspiration.
David studied Music to degree-level and has a BA(Hons) degree in Music Technology & Innovation from De Montfort University, specialising in sound design and music for Film & TV.
For most of his professional life, David has worked in the film industry (Post Production) as a Video Editor, producing content for clients such as Disney, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros.
For a long time music took a back seat due to the demands of his busy professional life, but in recent years he rediscovered his love for writing, producing and mixing music.

In 2020 David released an album under the pseudonym ‘Spectrolite‘ which in turn rekindled his love of writing and recording music. Combining his love of all things film and music, orchestral scoring seemed like the perfect fit, and in March 2024 David came runner-up in the Score Relief international film scoring competition.

David is a member of the composer collective Merkwood Music and is also a member of TheCueTube.
